TV actor Rituraj Singh died at 59 of cardiac arrest. Before his passing, he played the character Yashpal in Anupamaa serial.
Rituraj Singh died Tuesday, February 20. As reported by ETimes, he had been suffering from pancreatic disease and hospitalised after experiencing cardiac arrest, yet passed away at only 59 years of age.
Rituraj’s close friend Amit Bhel has confirmed the news of his passing through cardiac arrest and told entertainment portal, iFlix: “Yes he did pass away due to cardiac arrest after having been admitted for pancreatic treatment and returning home where cardiac complications led to his demise.” However, details regarding Rituraj’s final rites are currently unavailable.
Rituraj Singh’s sudden demise sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and caused many fans to take to social media in memory of this beloved actor. Many fans took time out from their busy lives to pay their respects.
Rituraj Singh has made appearances on popular Indian shows such as Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Kutumb, Abhay 3 and Never Kiss Your Best Friend, as well as Rupali Ganguly’s anupamaa series. Additionally, Rituraj Singh has worked in Satyamev Jayate 2 and Badrinath Ki Dulhania (where he played a role of Varun Dhawan’s father in Badrinath Ki Dulhania alongside Alia Bhatt).

Rituraj discussed his journey in television and Bollywood in an interview. When he said: “On television, I have worked for all channels; each director has used me multiple times; now, with OTT/film projects I always have something else lined up before one completes its project.”
“My theater career began at 12 when I joined a children’s theatre group and at 17, joined Barry John’s professional group. For 12 years I performed theatre with him; thereafter two English films and my first TV show lasting 25 years; today it’s all about film and digital space,” explained the actor.
