Madhya Pradesh blast : The whole city was filled with black smoke following the explosion of the cracker manufacturing plant in Harda.

Six people died and thirty were injured during an explosion (Madhya Pradesh Blast) at an illegal firecracker manufacturing facility located in the Madhya Pradesh state of Harda early on Tuesday People who were who are familiar with the incident told.

Nearby houses were destroyed by the blaze in the Bairagarh neighborhood of Harda district. More than three dozen commuters fell under the effects of the explosion. The authorities have evacuated more than 100 homes. There are constant explosions inside the factory. Many two wheelers caught fire during the blast.

Casualties may increase

Harda Civil doctor Dr Manish Sharma told reporters, “Six people died while more than 30 people were hurt. The number of injured and casualties will rise.”

Harda police chief (SP) Sanjeev Kanchan told, “A massive explosion took place at the factory on Tuesday morning. The entire city was suffocated with black smoke. Following the news, firefighters have been called to the area. The reason for the fire is at present unknown. Fire engines and ambulances were dispatched to Harda, Betul, Khandwa and Narmadapuram.”

According to the local administration, they were reported of the presence of 100 employees at the workplace. The chief minister, Dr. Mohan Yadav has called an emergency meeting to discuss the incident. The CM has given immediate instructions to the minister Uday Pratap Singh the additional chief secretary Ajit Kesari, and the deputy General Home Guard Arvind Kumar to travel to the scene via helicopter. 

National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams are advancing to the location.

CM Mohan Yadav takes immediate action

In the wake of the tragedy the chief minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has held an emergency meeting and directed minister Uday Pratap Singh IPS Ajit Kesari and DGP Home Guard Arvind Kumar to travel to the spot via helicopter and assess the situation immediately.

Measures to ensure preparedness

Additionally, medical schools are located at Bhopal and Indore as well as Indore, as well as the Burn Unit at AIIMS Bhopal are being instructed to prepare the necessary arrangements for handling any casualties that might occur.

Implementation of resources

Brigades of fire fighters from Indore along with Bhopal are being sent on the scene to help in the firefighting as well as rescue operations.

Measures to ease the burden

Senior officials have been instructed to assist in the coordination of relief efforts and to provide needed assistance to those affected by the disaster.
